Hi there! My name is Leslie Murphy. I’m a RN, a Board Certified Integrative Health Practitioner, a Functional Medicine Practitioner & a mom of 3. Hormone imbalance and infertility is near and dear to my heart. I struggled with PCOS and infertility most of my adult life, starting in my early 20’s, so I know first hand the physical and emotional challenges theses issues can create. Thats the reason why I decided focus my practice on helping women achieve optimal hormone balance.

I have created a step by step program to help you meet your goals whether it be taking control of your PCOS, having regular periods with minimal PMS symptoms, restoring a normal period after the pill, tackling your menopausal symptoms or having a baby. I help uncover and address root cause issues that are driving your symptoms and then help to correct them all naturally through diet and lifestyle changes, supplementation, and stress reduction. I use functional medicine lab testing if needed to get a clear picture of what is going on within the body on a deep level so we can develop a plan to correct imbalances.

The program includes four consultations via phone or Skype. This allows us to get to know each other and develop a working relationship. Your goals and priorities are mine and will be the main focus of us working together. The initial consultation is 60-75 minutes and the 3 remaining monthly appointments are 45-60 minutes. During your initial consultation we will review your history, symptoms, medications, current diet and goals. At this time I will recommend any functional medicine lab testing that is needed which may involve hormone, vitamin, mineral, and gut testing. We will address your optimal diet based on your goals, address any sleep issues, focus on stress reduction, toxin removal, and go over recommended supplements to get you the results you need. Additional visits include updating your care plan, reviewing lab testing results, and continuing education on lifestyle modifications and tools and techniques to help you take control of your hormones. You also get unlimited email support during this time and 15% off all supplements ordered. If you prefer you can also book a single appointment and purchase follow up appointments as needed.

pcos

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome is the most common endocrine disorder affecting up to 13% of reproductive aged women. There are 3 main drivers of PCOS and we start by determining what is driving your symptoms - inflammation, insulin resistance, and stress/adrneal gland dysfunction. Many women have multiple drivers so we determine drivers through functional medicine lab testing and current symptoms. We then work on correcting root cause imbalances through nutrition, exercise, stress management, and supplementation to help alleviate your symptoms and support your body’s natural functions. We replace nutritional deficiencies and remove toxicities within the body to optimize hormone and endocrine function. I do specialized hormone testing to determine how your PCOS is impacting your cycle throughout the month. We can also work on improving fertility if this is a goal of yours.

hormone imbalance

Hormone imbalances can start as early as the teen years through reproductive age. Hypothalamic amennorhhea, post-pill syndrome, estrogen dominance, PCOS, and endometriosis are some of the most common disorders affecting our normal hormone function. Many women suffer from severe PMS or PMDD which can make it difficult to function for almost half of every month but it doesn’t have to be that way! During a normal cycle there are natural ebbs and tides but they should not affect the way you feel every single day. I focus on helping you to determine what hormone imbalances you have and what’s driving your symptoms. We complete specialized hormone testing which can be very basic to very detailed, depending on your goals. I educate you on tracking your monthly cycle and symptoms, work on nutrition to support your body throughout the month, use specialized supplements to correct your root cause imbalances and alleviate your symptoms, and work on managing stress which is always a huge driver from hormone imbalance.

fertility optimization

Fertility optimization is all about preparing your body to have the healthiest pregnancy and baby possible. If you are thinking about conceiving in the next 3-12 months this program is for you. We focus on improving gut health, decreasing internal inflammation, detoxification, removing heavy metals, replacing any vitamin and mineral deficiencies (since we share these with baby), optimizing nutrition and correcting any potential cycle issues.

infertility

Infertility rates are at an all time high, recent studies show up to 15% of couples will have trouble conceiving. I work with couples who are looking for a more holistic approach in their fertility journey but can also work with couples undergoing assistive reproductive technology to help improve chances of conception. We do Dutch Testing with menstrual cycle mapping to determine your hormone levels daily throughout your cycle. We also focus on other root cause imbalances that may be impacting your ability to conceive with a focus on gut health and inflammation, stress, thyroid issues, nutritional deficiencies, heavy metal toxicity, endocrine disorders, and adrenal gland function. Once we know your drivers we work on nutrition, stress reduction, detoxification if needed, and supplements to help correct your root cause imbalances and support your body.

menopause

Menopause is a natural hormonal change that happens to women sometime between the age 40-60. Mood changes, insomnia, night sweats and low libido are some of the most common symptoms so the focus is to alleviate symptoms and help you meet your individual goals. Hormone replacement therapy has a lot of risks including breast cancer so we use all natural supplementation and nutritional support to help improve your symptoms. We do hormone testing to determine exactly what your levels are and then monitor as needed. We also focus on any other underlying root cause issues that you may have that may be worsening or driving your symptoms. At this age we want to optimize your health and focus on keeping you at your best!
